We used John and The Roofing Company to replace our roof before the summer. They showed us the Atlas shingles and we went with the hearthstone color. They removed the old roof and put the new one on all in one day which was great. We love how it looks and will be calling them for siding next year

Had John come and repair our roof after the latest windstorm took off with a few shingles. He showed up quickly, assessed the damage and make all necessary repairs very promptly. We'll be needing a new roof in the near future and there is no doubt I'll be calling John and The Roofing Company to do the job.

Is Metal Roofing Right for Your Home?

Choosing a new roof is a major decision.

You want something that protects your home, complements its appearance, and makes sense for your long-term plans.

For many homeowners, metal roofing checks those boxes.

But with different metal roofing systems, profiles, and styles available, knowing which option is right for your property can become confusing.

You shouldn’t have to figure it out alone.

The Roofing Company will help you compare your options, understand the differences, and determine whether a metal roof makes sense for your home.

Why Choose a Metal Roof?

Metal roofing has become an increasingly popular choice for homeowners looking beyond traditional asphalt shingles.

Depending on the roofing system you choose, potential advantages can include:

Options that complement both traditional and contemporary homes

A properly installed metal roofing system can provide homeowners with an attractive, dependable solution designed around long-term protection.

Metal Roofing Options for Pittsburgh Area Homes

Metal roofing isn’t one single product.

Different systems create very different appearances and can be suited to different types of homes and homeowner preferences.

The Roofing Company installs several types of residential metal roofing.

Standing Seam Metal Roofing

Standing seam is one of the most recognizable metal roofing systems.

Its clean lines and raised seams create a distinctive appearance that works particularly well for homeowners looking for a sleek, architectural finish.

The concealed-fastener design also creates a clean finished appearance while helping protect critical connection points from direct exposure to the elements.

Corrugated Metal Roofing

Corrugated metal roofing features a recognizable ribbed or waved profile.

It’s a versatile metal roofing option that can provide a distinctive appearance while offering the durability homeowners expect from a metal roofing system.

Metal Shingles

Want some of the advantages of metal without the traditional standing seam appearance?

Metal shingles provide another option.

They can create a more familiar residential roofing appearance while giving homeowners an alternative to traditional asphalt shingles.

Stone-Coated Steel Roofing

Stone-coated steel combines the strength of a metal roofing system with a textured exterior appearance.

It can be an attractive option for homeowners who want the benefits of metal while achieving a different architectural style.

Metal Roofing Built for Western Pennsylvania Weather

Western Pennsylvania roofs experience changing conditions throughout the year.

Your roofing system needs to be selected and installed with those conditions in mind.

Metal roofing can provide a durable option for homeowners looking for a roofing system designed to handle demanding conditions while maintaining an attractive appearance.

But the material itself is only part of the equation.

Proper installation matters.

That’s why choosing an experienced roofing contractor is just as important as choosing the roofing material.

Metal Roofing Is Only as Good as the Installation Behind It

A premium roofing material can’t compensate for poor workmanship.

Metal roofing requires careful attention to details throughout the installation process.

The roofing system needs to work together as a whole to help protect your home from water and the elements.

That’s where The Roofing Company’s broader construction background makes a difference.

Our experience isn’t limited to selling or installing roofing products.

We’ve spent nearly two decades working in construction and the trades, giving us a broader understanding of how the different parts of a home’s exterior work together.

We bring that same attention to detail to our metal roofing projects.

Metal Roofing vs. Asphalt Shingles: Which Is Right for You?

One of the most common decisions homeowners face when replacing a roof is whether to choose asphalt shingles or metal roofing.

There isn’t one right answer for every home.

Asphalt Shingles

Asphalt shingles remain an excellent choice for homeowners who want versatility, a wide selection of colors and styles, and strong overall value.

Architectural, premium, and luxury shingles provide plenty of options for creating an attractive residential roof.

Metal Roofing

Metal may appeal to homeowners looking for a different appearance, exceptional durability, or a longer-term approach to their roofing investment.

Standing seam, metal shingles, corrugated metal, and stone-coated steel also give homeowners several aesthetic options.

The right choice depends on your property, priorities, budget, style, and long-term plans.

When Should You Consider Replacing Your Current Roof With Metal?

You don’t need to wait for a complete roofing failure before considering replacement. You may want to explore a metal roof if:

  • Your current roof is approaching the end of its useful life
  • You’re experiencing recurring roofing problems
  • Your roof has extensive damage
  • You’re already planning a major exterior renovation
  • You want to change the appearance of your home
  • You’re interested in a durable alternative to traditional shingles
  • You’re planning to remain in the home long term
