We used John and The Roofing Company to replace our roof before the summer. They showed us the Atlas shingles and we went with the hearthstone color. They removed the old roof and put the new one on all in one day which was great. We love how it looks and will be calling them for siding next year

Had John come and repair our roof after the latest windstorm took off with a few shingles. He showed up quickly, assessed the damage and make all necessary repairs very promptly. We'll be needing a new roof in the near future and there is no doubt I'll be calling John and The Roofing Company to do the job.

A New Shingle Roof Is a Big Investment — Make Sure It’s Done Right

here are plenty of asphalt shingles to choose from.

There are also plenty of roofing contractors willing to install them.

The harder part is knowing whether you’re choosing the right roofing system and whether it will be installed correctly.

A roof isn’t simply shingles nailed to your home.

The performance of your roof depends on the complete roofing system and the quality of the installation behind it.

That’s why choosing the right asphalt shingle roofing contractor matters.

At The Roofing Company, we’ll help you understand your options, choose a roofing system that makes sense for your home, and make sure the details aren’t overlooked.

Why Are Asphalt Shingles So Popular With Pittsburgh Homeowners?

Asphalt shingles remain one of the most popular residential roofing materials for good reason.

They offer an excellent combination of performance, appearance, versatility, and value.

Today’s asphalt roofing shingles are also available in a wide range of colors, profiles, and styles, giving homeowners much more flexibility than traditional shingles of the past.

Benefits of asphalt shingle roofing can include:

  • A wide variety of styles and colors

  • Options for different budgets

  • Attractive curb appeal

  • Proven residential roofing performance

  • Straightforward maintenance and repair

  • Compatibility with many home styles

  • Architectural, premium, and luxury options

When installed as part of a complete roofing system, quality asphalt shingles can provide an attractive and dependable solution for your home.

Asphalt Shingle Options for Your Home

Not every asphalt shingle roof looks or performs the same.

We’ll help you compare your options so you can choose a roofing system that complements your home while meeting your priorities.

Architectural Shingles

Architectural shingles, sometimes called dimensional shingles, are a popular choice for homeowners looking for a balance of appearance, performance, and value.

Their dimensional profile creates greater visual depth than traditional basic shingles and can complement a wide range of home styles.

Premium Shingles

Premium shingles offer homeowners additional design and aesthetic options when they want something beyond a standard architectural roof.

They can be an excellent choice when curb appeal is an important part of your exterior renovation.

Luxury Shingles

For homeowners looking for a distinctive, high-end appearance, luxury asphalt shingles can provide enhanced dimension and character while maintaining the practicality of an asphalt roofing system.

Not sure which option is right for you?

That’s okay.

We’ll help you compare your choices and find the right fit for your home.

Is It Time to Replace Your Asphalt Shingle Roof?

Shingles don’t have to be falling off your home before your roof starts telling you something is wrong.

As your roofing system ages, you may begin noticing warning signs such as:

  • Missing shingles
  • Cracked or damaged shingles
  • Curling or lifting shingles
  • Excessive granule loss
  • Granules collecting in gutters
  • Discoloration or inconsistent areas
  • Recurring roof leaks
  • Water stains inside the home
  • Storm or wind damage
  • Previous repairs in multiple areas
  • Visible deterioration

If you’re noticing these signs, it doesn’t automatically mean you need a new roof.

But it does mean your roofing system is worth having professionally evaluated.

We’ll assess the condition of your roof and help you understand whether repair or replacement makes the most sense.

Asphalt Shingle Roofing Built for Western Pennsylvania Weather

Your roof doesn’t get many days off in Western Pennsylvania.

Throughout the year, it may be exposed to heavy rain, high winds, summer heat, freezing temperatures, snow, ice, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

That’s why choosing a roof based only on appearance isn’t enough.

The roofing system needs to be selected and installed with the conditions your home actually faces in mind.

Our team combines quality roofing materials with hands-on construction experience to provide asphalt shingle roofing designed around the long-term protection of your home.

More Than Shingles — The Complete Roofing System Matters

The shingles are what you see when you look at your roof.

But they’re not working alone.

A residential roofing system consists of multiple components that need to work together to protect your home from water and the elements.

Details around roof penetrations, valleys, edges, flashing, ventilation, and other vulnerable areas can all affect how the roofing system performs.

That’s why craftsmanship matters.

The Roofing Company’s broader construction experience gives us an understanding of how the different parts of your home’s exterior work together.

We don’t look at your roof as simply another surface that needs shingles.

We look at it as a system designed to protect everything underneath it.
